Cllr Vijay Patel

My name is Vijay Patel and I am one of your Hampton Vale Parish Councillors.

I was born and raised in Peterborough and moved to Hampton in 2003 from Orton Waterville as I liked the idea of a new township and what it had to offer young families.

Not knowing what was going on within Hampton, I started to attend Hampton Residents’ Association meetings in the early days and decided that I wanted to help shape the future of Hampton. I therefore joined the group, which later branched out to form the Parish Council Steering Group and help establish the Parish Council.

I am proud of the 5 years I served as Chairman of Hampton Parish Council and various committees and want to ensure that Hampton continues to grow.

As well as the Parish Council, I was also involved in setting up the Hampton Vale Community Association which has now become a popular venue for groups and parties.

As my children have grown up so has my level of community involvement and most recently I helped set up the "Hampton in Action" Community group, which was set up to initially to tackle litter “hotspots” in Hampton. The group currently hold monthly Litter Picks on the first Saturday of the month running from March through to November in Hampton Vale. Each session only lasts one hour running from 10am to 11am. The group is hoping to expand this Hampton Hargate area on the second Saturday of the month

Please refer to the "Hampton in Action" Facebook page for latest details and if you have a spare hour then do come along to help keep Hampton tidy.

I have recently become a trustee of the Hampton Sports and Community Association as I wish to see sports within Hampton expand and look forward to our rebranding in the coming months.
