Cllr Claire Guyton

Hi Everyone, my name is Claire Guyton and I’ve been a Hampton Vale councillor since May 2015.   I moved to Hampton Hargate in 2008 and then to Vale in 2014.

I have had many opportunities to move back down south, where I’m originally from. However having lived in Peterborough for almost 14 years, I consider Hampton to be a great place to live and bring up a family.  With so much on our doorstop, we want for nothing.  As a busy parent, it’s vital I have everything I need around me.  We have an extensive shopping centre, sports fields for the children to play on, so many places to walk your dog, a gym (which I have at last managed to join!), a church with a cafe, social clubs for the young and old, fantastic schools and now a skate park, all within a few miles from the city centre.

Since having been on the Parish council, I can see we are fast becoming a town with far bigger responsibilities than smaller Parishes nearby.  I joined the Parish Council as I’d like to be a part of this growing community.  I am currently on the Finance and General Purpose Committee as well as the HR Committee.  I can see my fellow councillors have worked hard over the past 6 years to bring the best to Hampton and continue to do so.  You may not always see it, but there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes to make this a safe, clean and happy environment for us all to live in.  Come along to our meetings held each month (check the website for dates and times) and be a part of Hampton history.
